Tour Officials have announced that the series will provide
special recognition for participating rookies, including recognition for the
highest-finishing rookie in each of the twelve events and a season-long
competition for “FAST Rookie of The Year.” As explained by series co-founder
Alan Bruns, “There are a lot of young men and women in Florida who want to
compete with a series on a regular basis, and this gives them the opportunity to
compete at a higher level and have their own race within a race.” Prize money
to be awarded in the Rookie competition will be determined later.
FAST has established these qualifications for
participation in the Rookie competition:

Cannot have run a full Late Model traveling series
·
Cannot have won a Late Model or Alternate Series
Championship
·
Cannot have won a major Late Model race (75 or more laps)
There is no maximum age limitation, and all applicants for
the Rookie program must be approved by the FAST Executive Committee.
NOTE: Rookie participants will be allocated reserved
testing time on the Friday preceding each of the twelve races. The exact time
for this reserved test period will be specified in the detailed schedule to be
published in advance of each event.
